8 Edmonton Gift Bag Ideas

This guest post on 100 Layer Cake by Indigo Bunting inspired me to come up with some ideas for Edmonton Themed Gift Bags for out of town wedding guests.

1. Post Card. Visit local tourist shops to snag some Edmonton postcards or make your own by snapping some great Edmonton images and heading over to Moo.com to place an order. The great thing about Moo is you can put a different image on every card in your order if you wanted to. There are also some great Edmonton postcards on Zazzle.

2. A copy of Avenue Magazine. You can pick these up for free. For a list of locations that distribute Avenue, simply visit here. (Image credit: Avenue Magazine)

3. ETS  Tickets. This is a great idea if your wedding is taking place in the downtown area and if the majority of your guests will be staying there. Currently you can buy Ticket Pack of 10 Adult Passes for $22.00.

4. A bottle of brew from Edmonton’s longest running microbrewery Alley Kat Brewing Company. They also have nifty 20 oz. branded pint glasses for $5 available at the brewery.

5. Kettle Corn. I love the stuff! You can find Original Canadian Kettle Corn Ltd. at Farmers Markets all over the Edmonton Region during the summer months.

6. Duchess Bake Shop Goodies. Duchess Bake Shop has been taking Edmonton by storm and for good reason. Their confections are amazingly delicious! Macarons are one of their signature items. Flavours include Lemon, Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Cafe, Rose, Lavender, Pistachio, Coconut, Strawberry. Honestly, everything is tasty here…so go nuts! (Image credit: Jen Williams Photography)

7. City of Edmonton Map. You can get one of these just about anywhere. Just like the example from Indigo Bunting you can make points of interest for your guests with stickers and write helpful notes to point them in the right direction.

8. Edmonton Oilers/Eskimos Key Chain. Available at a variety of fine local sports shops. They might even be on sale!

This list could go on but I think I’m going to leave it here so Edmontonians can comment on what they’d would include. A month ago I asked for gift bag suggestions on twitter, my only response was “a decrepit arena, a pothole and an overpriced art gallery no one visits. Oh yeah – don’t forget a cigarette butt.” I’m hoping you can do better than that!
